Here is a Dallas Morning News article about a recent speech that ERCOT CEO Pablo Vegas gave. A big concern to me is all the preparations that are having to be done now and for the future so that our isolated Texas electrical grid doesn't fail. There is also the annoying fact of crypto-miners being rewarded in the millions of dollars for scaling back on their power usage.
Lastly, what's alarming and is linked in this article is that ERCOT predicts a 16% chance of a grid emergency in August with a 12% chance of rolling blackouts. This may occur between the hours of 8 and 9pm when solar power is lost as the sun goes down but power usage remains high. A big effort is being made to find ways of boosting Texas's electrical infrastucture and storing power in batteries.
